About

Pangasinan East Eye Center

Pangasinan East Eye Center is a complete and state-of-the-art ambulatory ophthalmic surgical center in Urdaneta City which provides services to patients from all over North Luzon and other adjacent regions of the Philippines. It is the first of its kind in the area and has served as a model for similar facilities to be established in nearby provinces.

The PEEC, a brain child of Dr. Cheryll A. Carancho, opened its doors to the public in February of 2006. At that time, she was an Ophthalmologic Consultant at the Metro Urdaneta Specialists. It initially started with several consultants including Vitreo-Retina, Refractive and Cornea specialty. Its aim was to provide quality yet affordable eye-care services.

To provide more coverage to eye patients availing its services, the PEEC, since its inception, worked to become a PhilHealth accredited institution. It also forged alliances as Ophthalmologic Healthcare provider for HMO’s like Maxicare, Medicard, Pilipinas Generali, Valuecare, Carewell and AsianCare.

Dr. Carancho and her team of consultants’ hard work paid off. As more patients were rendered quality eye-care by this pioneer ophthalmologic facility, word of mouth catapulted the center to having throngs of patients availing of its varied services. Its old location at the Rocca Building in Alexander Street proved too small to accommodate the large number of patients coming daily.

As a result, a new and better building was opened along McArthur Highway in 2013. Several modern equipment were also procured making the Pangasinan East Eye Center the first eye-care facility to offer the most advanced yet reasonably affordable ophthalmologic care in Northern Luzon.

Today, after a decade of quality and optimal services to over 15 000 OR and 134 000 OPD patients, PEEC continuous to fulfill its mission to deliver highly specialized ophthalmologic services combined with state-of-the-art ophthalmic equipment.
